John Great Gammage, age 84, of Suwanee, Georgia, peacefully entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 28, 2023.
John was born March 10, 1938, in Birmingham, Alabama, to the late Charles E. Gammage and Theresa Gammage. John graduated from Auburn University in 1960 with a degree in Industrial Management and went to work for his father. He would become President and CEO of Metal Products Company, founded by his father in 1941. John was a lifelong and faithful member at Perimeter Church. He proudly served in the United States Air Force Reserves and the Coast Guard Auxiliary.
Earlier in life John loved boating along the Intercoastal Waterway and recreational flying. He got both his captain’s and pilot’s licenses and loved taking friends along on his adventures. His hobbies also included restoring antique cars, woodworking, and golf. He was an active member of the Atlanta Athletic Club for 55 years.
Later in life, times dearest to John were the moments he spent sitting by the river with his family, listening to bluegrass and country music, talking “shop” with his boys, and enjoying all of Honeys good care and cooking.
