Dear Friends and Family,

This summer, July 4 – July 15, I have the opportunity to go to Karansi, Tanzania with Perimeter Church from Atlanta, GA and UBORA.  You may remember Jordan, Alyssa, or my mom going on trips to Karansi.  It is an area of the world our family is growing increasingly called to by God.  On Jordan’s initial visit, she was able to work at Punchmi, the school built by our cousin Jerry.  The children at this school get two meals a day, which most likely will be their only two meals.  For my mom and Alyssa’s visit, they were involved with two separate activities.  Alyssa helped train the teachers of the school on different science subjects, while my mom was part of a medical team that gave physicals to over 1200 public school children in the area.

The people of Karansi are also close to our hearts because they served our family in a time of great need.  My great-great Grandmother and great Grandmother were brought to the nearby Tengeru Polish refugee camp after being rescued from a Russian concentration camp in WW2.  It is where my Grandmother was born and grew up before moving to England and eventually to America.

During my trip, I will be researching the business environment of Karansi in hopes of helping the people build successful and sustainable businesses in the future.  This is a relatively new venture for UBORA, and it is only the second business related trip to the area.  The goal for this and future research trips is to develop a training program teaching the Karansi people and graduates of Punchmi how to build sustainable businesses.

****PRAY**** Please, please pray for the team, ministry, safety, the people of Karansi, and the trip as a whole!  It is easy to get overwhelmed with all the details of this undertaking.  We want our team and those we are partnering with to grow in faith, unity, love, and joy during the entire process.  Interacting with the people of Karansi, we pray to see the Holy Spirit move and open their hearts to the gospel.  Without God none of this would be possible so prayer is vitally important.

TRANSFORMATION is happening in Tanzania and continues to happen by the power of the gospel.  It is remarkable to be a small part of it!
