Grant Helps Turn Peachtree Corners Apartments into Homes
When a young person ages out of foster care, adulthood often begins without the safety net most people take for granted. Many leave the system carrying little more than a bag of belongings, uncertain where they will sleep or who will walk beside them. In Gwinnett County, this reality is becoming painfully common. Hope Thru Soap (HTS), a Gwinnett nonprofit and friend of Perimeter, currently has 86 young adults waiting for housing assistance, many of them navigating unsafe or unstable living conditions while trying to build a future.
That is why Crest Point Village is such a remarkable opportunity.
Developed by the Gwinnett Housing Corporation in partnership with Hope Thru Soap and FaithBridge Foster Care, Crest Point Village will transform an obsolete extended-stay property in Peachtree Corners into 73 affordable homes. The community will serve young adults ages 18 to 24 experiencing homelessness, particularly those aging out of foster care, alongside vulnerable seniors in an intentional intergenerational community.
Residents will receive financial counseling, job training, health screenings, and on-site case management, while shared gathering spaces, kitchens, gardens, and recreation areas will foster relationships, life skills, bible studies, and healing.
A Perimeter Kingdom Investments grant will ensure these apartments become more than empty units. The newly awarded grant will provide furniture and essential household items that transform a space into a home, offering dignity, stability, and hope. For many residents, this will be the first place that truly feels like their own.
More than funding furniture, this grant is an investment in stability and restoration. Pollye Pope, Perimeter’s director of Community Outreach, said, “It’s a privilege to be part of a project that reflects the heart of Christ by meeting the tangible needs of young adults and seniors. And, our members will have opportunities to serve alongside this community and build relationships along the way. This is what the Church looks like when we come together to love our neighbors in practical ways.”
Crest Point Village has the potential to become a model for other communities—a place where housing is paired with compassionate support, where generations strengthen one another, and where lives are transformed not simply by having a roof overhead, but by finally finding a place to call home.
